Dieses Seminar führt in die Sprachtypologie ein. Zunächst werden wir grundlegende Konzepte kennenlernen, die mit einer sprachübergreifenden Perspektive auf Sprache verbunden sind. Wir werden uns mit verschiedenen theoretischen Ansätzen befassen, die zur Erfassung (über)einzelsprachlicher Phänomene entwickelt wurden. In diesem Zusammenhang werden wir insbesondere die morphosyntaktische Variation analysieren und auf der Grundlage der vorgestellten Theorien diskutieren.
Die zu lesende Literatur wird überwiegend englischsprachig sein.
