Das Oberseminar bzw. die Resarch Class dient als Forum für den regelmäßigen Austausch über Fragen und Forschungsprojekte in der Neueren und Zeitgeschichte. Sie ist offen für (fortgeschrittene) BA- sowie MA-Studierende, Doktorand*innen (auch der BGHS) und Postdoctorand*innen der Abt. Geschichtswissenschaft und anlehnender Disziplinen. Teilnehmende können - auf Deutsch oder Englisch - sowohl zeithistorische Qualifikations- als auch Hausarbeiten vorstellen, und es wird regelmäßig auch an eigenen Texten gearbeitet. Zudem werden immer wieder auch externe Gäste mit für die aktuelle Forschung besonders relevanten Projekten und Perspektiven hinzugeladen. Die Research Class findet zweiwöchentlich statt, beginnend am 14.10.2025.

Um eine persönliche Nachricht an die Dozentin samt einer kurzen Darstellung von Motivation und Interessenschwerpunkten per Email wird gebeten. Die LV ist auch für fortgeschrittene BA-Studierende offen (ab dem 3. Fachemester). Wir treffen uns i.d.R. in Präsenz, in begründeten Fällen ist eine Zuschaltung via Zoom möglich.

Lektüren beschränken sich i.d.R. auf einen eigenen Text eines/r Teilnehmer/in, die im Oberseminar diskutiert oder eine vorbereitende Lektüre.
