Die Vielfalt der evolutionären Anpassungen an verschiedene Lebensräume und Lebensweisen werden in diesem Kurs exemplarisch vorgestellt, wobei ein Schwerpunkt auf morphologische, ökologische und verhaltensbiologische Merkmale gelegt wird, die jeweils in einem stammesgeschichtlichen Kontext besprochen werden. Etwa die Hälfte jedes Kurstages wird der Dozent einen Überblick über die jeweiligen Anpassungen und ihre Stammesgeschichte geben, in der andere Hälfte des Kurses werden Teilnehmer/innen eher speziellere Anpassungen in Form von Referaten vorstellen. Das Lernziel dieser Veranstaltung ist es, dass die Teilnehmer/innen Kenntnisse zur Vielfalt und Biologie von Insekten und ihren Anpassungen im Zusammenhang mit ihrer Stammesgeschichte erwerben und ihre Fähigkeiten verbessern informative Vorträge zu halten.
