The rich diversity in learning abilities and (linguistic) backgrounds among students presents both a complex challenge and a profound educational opportunity for language teachers—many of whom may not have encountered such heterogeneity in their own schooling. This class seeks to explore and promote inclusive pedagogical and even more so didactical approaches that recognize and value individual differences as assets in the English Language Teaching (ELT) classroom. By presenting a range of strategies and methods for supporting learners with specific learning difficulties, this class aims to harmonize the demands of curricular standards with the daily needs of each pupil. Emphasizing the integration of theory and practice, participants will gain hands-on insights into effective lesson planning and the dynamic nature of hyperdiverse learner groups, fostering a more equitable and responsive teaching environment aligned with contemporary curriculum frameworks.
