230407 Träume in Zeiten totaler Herrschaft (S) (WiSe 2025/2026)

Im Seminar lesen und diskutieren wir Träume, die unter dem Eindruck nationalsozialistischer Herrschaft in Deutschland entstanden sind. Einschlägig für diesen Zusammenhang ist die von Charlotte Beradt zusammengetragene Sammlung „Das dritte Reich des Traums“, in der sie über 50 zwischen 1933 und 1939 aufgezeichnete Träume präsentiert. In dieser Sammlung zeigt sich eindrucksvoll, wie der Totalitarismus bis hinein in die Träume der Betroffenen vordringt und auch hier Spuren hinterlässt. Im Seminar fragen wir danach, wie diese Träume zu entziffern sind und welchen Beitrag sie zu einer Geschichte des Totalitarismus leisten. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Frage, wie sich in den Träumen der von Reinhart Koselleck beschriebene „Bruch der Person“ und die Kontrolle über das Individuum manifestieren. Im Anschluss lesen und besprechen wir weitere Träume, insbesondere Lagerträume, von Rudolf Leonhard, Primo Levi, Charlotte Delbo u.a.m.
