230274 Jorge Luis Borges y la literatura argentina (S) (WiSe 2025/2026)

Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986) es quizá el autor más rico y estimulante que ha habido en lengua española desde la muerte de Calderón de la Barca en 1681. Su obra es única, no sólo por sus deslumbrantes efectos estéticos sin par, sino por alzarse en compleja máquina filosófica, la cual, de manera semejante a un Gedankenexperiment o a un readymade de Duchamp, nos insta a pensar sobre la naturaleza del lenguaje y sus vínculos inexorables con el mundo.
El seminario pretende ser una introducción a los principales rasgos de esta máquina. Para ello se hará una lectura cronológica, que va de la década vanguardista del veinte hasta 1953, año en que Borges pierde la vista: se leerán textos cruciales como “Poema conjetural”, “Pierre Menard, autor del Quijote”, “Kafka y sus precursores”, “El aleph”.
Por otra parte, se intentará definir el sitio preciso que ocupa Borges dentro de la tradición literaria argentina. De ahí que el seminario se detenga también en autores anteriores (Sarmiento, Lugones, Macedonio), coetáneos (Bioy Casares, Cortázar, Ocampo) y posteriores a Borges (Saer, Puig, Uhart, Fogwill). Al ser un autor central del canon, Borges funge como punto de entrada ideal para explorar las literaturas argentina y latinoamericana modernas y contemporáneas.
Todo (lecturas, discusiones, presentaciones orales, trabajos finales) será en español.
