300439 Social Policy in Developing Countries (S) (WiSe 2025/2026)

If you are interested in exploring social welfare programmes beyond Western countries, this seminar could support you through discussing these four themes to achieve your goal:

1. What is social policy?
2. What are poverty and inequality? A social stratification perspective on societies in developing countries.
3. Identifying target groups for welfare programmes in developing countries and which social protection programmes are appropriate for these groups.
4. Reviewing welfare regime theories: How can we categorize these diverse programmes in developing countries?

Through these four sections, we will discuss social policies in developing countries and gain insights into how they address the welfare needs of their citizens.
