Wie wird 'Liebe' gesellschaftlich organisiert, normiert und naturalisiert — und welche alternativen Formen von Intimität, Fürsorge und Zusammenleben werden dadurch marginalisiert und unsichtbar gemacht?
Die heterosexuelle, romantische und monogame Zweierbeziehung gilt in westlichen Gesellschaften als selbstverständliche und erstrebenswerte Form des Zusammenlebens. Mit ihr verbunden sind Ideale von emotionaler und sexueller Exklusivität, (gegenseitiger) Fürsorge, geteilter Haushalts- und Finanzführung und lebenslanger Partner*innenschaft. Vorstellungen darüber, wer wen lieben soll bzw. darf, welche Beziehungen als 'normal' gelten und welchen Beziehungen gesellschaftliche Anerkennung, rechtliche Absicherung und staatlich finanzielle Unterstützung zukommt, sind Teil der sozialen Ordnung. Innerhalb dieser wird 'Liebe' zum Kristallisationspunkt von geschlechts- und klassenspezifischen sowie rassifizierten Macht- und Ungleichheitsverhältnisse.
Ausgehend von soziologischen, feministischen und queer-feministischen Sichtweisen auf romantische Liebe, Paarförmigkeit und Monogamie untersuchen wir in diesem Seminar, wie Hetero-, Mono- und Amatonormativität soziale Beziehungen strukturieren. Dabei fragen wir auch nach den Zusammenhängen zwischen "Liebe" und Kapitalismus, (unbezahlter) Fürsorgearbeit, (Klein-)Familie, (Zwangshetero-)Sexualität und (queerem) Begehren, um schließlich alternative Formen von Intimität, Verwandtschaft und Fürsorge zu diskutieren.
Seminarsprache ist Deutsch, die Bereitschaft Texte in Englisch zu lesen wird erwünscht.
