241060 Proseminar Coxetergruppen und ihre Kombinatorik (PS) (SoSe 2015)

Coxetergruppen sind Gruppen, die durch (abstrakte) Spiegelungen definiert sind. Sie spielen in verschiedensten Teilgebieten der Algebra, Geometrie und Topologie eine zentrale Rolle. Beispiele umfassen die Symmetriegruppen regulaerer Polyeder, euklidische Spiegelungsgruppen und Weylgruppen einfacher Liescher Algebren.

Wir wollen uns im Seminar zuerst die Fundamente der Theorie der Coxetergruppen erarbeiten (etwa ausgehend von Humphreys Buch [H]) und uns dann auf die kombinatorischen Aspekte von Coxetergruppen fokussieren, wobei wir Themen aus dem Buch [BB] von Bjoerner und Brenti aufgreifen.

Das Seminar richtet sich an alle Interessierten mit Grundkenntnissen der Linearen Algebra.
