Lernziele der Vorlesung sind das Erlernen von theoretischen und praktischen Grundlagen des Programmierens mit Python, die unter anderem dazu dienen sollen, eigenständig wissenschaftliche Experimente konzipieren, implementieren und auswerten zu können. Dazu werden Konzepte in der Vorlesung inhaltlich erarbeitet, die dann in der Übung praktisch umgesetzt werden sollen.

Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Studierende des ersten Semesters des MSc-Studiengangs Psychologie. Die Veranstaltung gehört zum Masterstudiengang "Experimentelle Psychologie und Neurowissenschaft".
