In dieser Veranstaltung geht es vorwiegend um die Integration von Funktionen einer Variablen und ihre Anwendungen. Dazu gehören die Berechnung von Flächeninhalten und Kurvenlängen, die Lösung gewöhnlicher Differentialgleichungen wie z. B. der Newtonschen Bewegungsgleichungen und das Prinzip der kleinsten Wirkung. Nebenbei erfährt man unter anderem, warum die Gravitation Planeten auf Ellipsenbahnen zwingt, welche nichtharmonischen Schwingungen ein Pendel ausführt und warum eine hängende Kette die Form der sogenannten Kettenlinie annimmt.
