In diesem Modul werden pflanzenökologische Methoden zur Erfassung von Pflanzengesellschaften erlernt und in Einzelprojekten vertieft. Die wichtigsten Ökosysteme Europas werden vorgestellt und in einer mehrtägigen Exkursionen wird auf verschiedene Biotope Deutschlands eingegangen (Internationalpark Odertal, Schwedt; Spreewald, Oberlausitz). 5 Tagesexkursionen in OWL zu verschiedenen pflanzensoziologischen Themen runden den Schwerpunkt pflanzliche Artendiversität ab. In kleinen Projekten werden die erlernten Methoden der Kartierung von Pflanzengesellschaften vertieft und durch pflanzenökologische Methoden im Labor ergänzt.
