Der Aufstieg des späteren princeps Augustus wurde von den Medien der damaligen Zeit ständig begleitet: Sei es, daß sich die Dichter mit ihm auseinandersetzen, sei es, daß Augustus selbst Münzen, Statuen, Tempel in Auftrag gab, die ihn darstellten. Im Seminar werden wir uns mit all diesen Formen beschäftigen, sie analysieren und versuchen, die Aussage und die Wirkkraft damals und heute herauszufiltern.
