Schillers Dramen haben Literaturgeschichte gemacht. Wie kaum ein anderer deutscher Autor hat er das Theater beherrscht. Dabei hat er in seinem kurzen Leben verschiedene Modelle erprobt, die sich mit den Epochenbezeichnungen Sturm und Drang, Klassik und Romantik nur unzureichend charakterisieren lassen. An ausgewählten Dramen sollen Grundprobleme dramatischer Literatur um 1800 und ihre heutige Vermittlung im Unterricht erörtert werden. Dabei werden vor allem die Planung von Unterrichtseinheiten und die Umsetzung von Unterrichtszielen im Vordergrund stehen.
