Die Fähigkeit des Lesens und Schreibens ist eine entscheidende Voraussetzung für die Teilhabe des Einzelnen an einer durch die Schrift geprägten Kultur. Kinder sammeln heute oft schon vor dem Schuleintritt erste Erfahrungen mit dem Lesen und Schreiben. Doch spätestens mit dem Unterricht in der Grundschule beginnt für alle der systematische Aufbau von Lese- und Schreibkompetenz. Der Kurs bietet einen Überblick über zentrale Aspekte des Schriftspracherwerbs unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des Grundschulunterrichts. Geplant sind folgende inhaltliche Schwerpunkte:
• grundlegende Modellvorstellungen über die Funktionsweise des Lesens und Schreibens;
• Vorläuferfertigkeiten für den schulischen Schriftspracherwerb;
• Möglichkeiten zur Entwicklung und Unterstützung verschiedener Teilfähigkeiten des Lesens und Schreibens in der Grundschule;
• die Entwicklung von Lese- und Schreibkompetenzen über die Grundschule hinaus;
• die Förderung lese-rechtschreibschwacher Schülerinnen und Schüler;
• besondere Bedingungen des Schriftspracherwerbs bei Kindern mit Migrationshintergrund.
