The Praktikum is divided into the practical part in school and the course at the University.

You'll be in school for four weeks (Luisenschule Realschule or Laborschule Grundschule) for about four hours between summer and autumn holidays in August/September - dates and time will be coordinated individually with the teachers in school.
The course is for students of the old study course (Studienmodell 2002) and the new study course (Studienmodell 2011) doing an internship.

The focus of this course is on individual prompting and differentiation in the EFL primary school classroom and grades 5 and 6 in secondary school.
You will learn how to plan and structure a lesson with a special view on individual prompting and differentiation for every child in the classroom. Together we will plan English units and lessons including the syllabus (Lehrplan 2008).
I will introduce different course books and show up how differentiation is implemented.

Please get a copy of the “Englisch Lehrplan für die Grundschule (2008)”. (You can download a pdf for free: just google “Englisch Lehrplan Grundschule NRW”).
