In der Veranstaltung werden der sozialtheoretische Hintergrund der für die Entwicklung und Forschungspraxis der interpretativen Sozialforschung sehr einflussreichen Ethnomethodologie behandelt. Im Mittelpunkt stehen aber ihr Forschungsprogramm sowie die hieraus hervorgegangenen Analyserichtungen und -techniken, denen wir uns sowohl mittels Textlektüre als auch praktisch annähern wollen. Da die Verfahren auf die Rekonstruktion alltäglich verwendeter Praktiken der Herstellung sozialer Ordnung zielen, bilden alle möglichen verfügbaren „natürlichen“ Daten sozialer Interaktion (im weitesten Sinn) die Grundlage der Verfahren und somit auch der Veranstaltung.
