220119 Geschichtsschreibung zur kolonialen Welt (GSH) (WiSe 2014/2015)

Der Grundkurs dient der Einführung in die historiographischen Debatten zur Geschichte der kolonialen Welt. Wir werden anhand der Lektüre ausgewählter Texte diskutieren, wie sich der Zugang der Geschichtswissenschaft zur Vergangenheit und Gegenwart ehemals kolonisierter im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts verändert hat, von der klassischen Kolonialgeschichte bis hin zur post-kolonialen Debatte. Wir werden uns mit dem Grundproblem dichotomer Begrifflichkeiten (modern versus vormodern, Geschichte versus Tradition, Norden versus Süden, etc.) auseinandersetzen und Fragen der Differenz, des Eurozentrismus und der Moderne aus globalgeschichtlicher Perspektive diskutieren.
Von den Teilnehmenden wird erwartet, dass sie in Vorbereitung des Grundkurses nach eigener Wahl eine der angegebenen Lektüren lesen.
