This course focuses on the developement of the European economic integration during the 20th century with a focus on the post World War II era. We will look at the institutions and the institutional actors of the economic integration and its economic effects.
Participants will be introduced into the main historical and economic theories of economic integration and the global framework of economic integration in the European context.
This course is open to all Master students. A particular knowledge of Economic History, Economics or the history of the European Union is not required. Discussions and oral presentations will be held in English, but final papers (Seminararbeiten) can be submitted in English or German.

Participants should be willing to give an oral presentation in class. The length of a final paper should be 20 to 25 pages.
