230604 Betreuungsseminar zur Erstellung der B.A.-Arbeit im Bereich Linguistik (S) (WiSe 2007/2008)

The aims and methods of the "Betreuungsseminar" cover the planning, researching and production of a B.A. thesis. Thus, the aims and methods are similar to those of the colloquium on "Contemporary Research Paradigms in Linguistics", and the two classes will be integrated, partly because interests at different research levels are similar, but also in order to provide models for younger students, and active discussion for older students.
However, there will be monthly meetings specifically for the BA participants, concerned with basics of thesis preparation, as well as individual consultations where specific advice is needed.
The topics will depend largely on the specific interests of the seminar particpants.
Participants are required to produce a weekly updated portfolio on the web summarising discussion and their comments on the proceedings in the course.

Since topics will be rather heterogeneous, no specific literature recommendations are made. However, one of the topics will be how to structure and format a BA thesis. See my teaching page for information on this (and also for word processor templates).
