Bei der Rede vom "Sozialraum" wird Raum oft als ein klar abgegrenztes Territorium begriffen, das sich durch bestimmte Charakteristika - z.B. bauliche, aber auch Charakteristika der dort lebenden Personen (etwa in der Rede vom 'sozialen Brennpunkt') - auszeichnet. Kritiken an solchen Konzeptionen vom Sozialraum beziehen sich z.B. auf die Vernachlässigung ökonomischer Aspekte oder betonen, dass Raum durch soziale Praxis - etwa durch die Stigmatisierung von Stadtteilen - (mit)produziert wird. Im Seminar werden wir uns anhand der Seminartexte in diese Diskussion einarbeiten und sie nutzen, um pädagogische Konzepte der Sozialraumorientierung zu diskutieren. Leitend wird dabei die Frage sein, inwiefern und wie sich pädagogisches Handeln auf 'Raum' beziehen soll.
