Das Verstehen von Gruppenprozessen in ihren fördernden und hindernden Dimensionen gehört zu den pädagogischen Schlüsselkompetenzen. Das Seminar führt ein in die Grundlagen der Gruppentheorien und ihre Forschungsmethoden. Gruppenprozesse werden sowohl im Kontext der Gruppendynamik als auch der Gruppenanalyse als Theorie und Konzept der Arbeit mit Gruppen vorgestellt. Das Lebenswerk Kurt Lewins, Sigmund Foulkes, Anneliese Heigl-Evers und anderer stellt einen wichtigen Bezugsrahmen dar. Die Studierenden lernen zudem Gruppenprozesse wahrzunehmen und zu beobachten. In eigenen kurzen Referaten, die in Studiengruppen erarbeitet werden, absolvieren sie ihre Studienleistung.
