Das Seminar soll sich ausgehend von Donald Normans Monographie "Emotional Design" mit emotionalen Aspekten des Umgangs mit Dingen des Alltags aus psychologischer Sicht beschäftigen. Zu behandelnde Fragen sind etwa: Welche Emotionen werden im Umgang mit Dingen des Alltags hervorgerufen? Führen positive Emotionen zu einer besseren Benutzbarkeit von technischen Geräten? Welche Vorteile könnte es haben, wenn technische Geräte (z.B. Roboter) Emotionen erkennen und zeigen können? Können Maschinen Emotionen haben? Zur Beantwortung dieser Fragen werden weitere theoretische und empirische Arbeiten herangezogen, die jeweils die Grundlage der einzelnen Sitzungen bilden und von den Teilnehmern vorbereitet und diskutiert werden.
