300296 Discourse Analysis (MC: Soziologische Methoden - qualitativ) (S) (WiSe 2024/2025)

Contents, comment

The seminar covers the practical and methodologcial aspects of conducting discourse analysis. We will work with the sociology of knowledge approach to discourse analysis by Rainer Keller, as its
focus on working with empirical data is uniquely suited for developing practical approaches towards different theoretical conceptualizations of discourse phenomena. This is primarily due to the method's
extensive integration of Grounded Theory methodology, which is widely known for its flexibility when working with all types of qualitative data. Moreover, the approach shares some methodological traits with
Adele Clarke's situation analysis, which makes it usable within a wide range of theoretical and methodological frameworks.

The seminar requires all participants to work with qualitative data from their own dissertation projects.

The commentary, literature list and requirements will be updated, please add the course to your weekly schedule in order to receive the updates.
