Die aus dem Institut für Sozialforschung hervorgegangene Frankfurter Schule ist zweifelsfrei eine der prominentesten philosophischen Bewegungen des zurückliegenden Jahrhunderts. Bekannt ist diese Schule vornehmlich für ihre kritische Gesellschaftstheorie, die sich in weiten Zügen als eine Weiterentwicklung des Marxismus begreift. In dieser Veranstaltung soll es darum gehen, anhand einschlägiger Texte diese Gesellschaftstheorie und die mit ihr einhergehende politische Theorie der Frankfurter Schule zu diskutieren. Dabei soll sowohl ein systematisch-inhaltlicher als auch ein historischer Zugriff auf das zu diskutierende Material unternommen werden.
Eine Leistungsbescheinigung (BA- oder Master of Education-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für regelmäßige Teilnahme und zwei Kurzessays, die im Laufe des Semesters zu verfassen sind.
Ein Leistungsnachweis (Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für regelmäßige Teilnahme und eine schriftliche Hausarbeit im Umfang von 15-20 Seiten.

Magister- und Lehramts-Studiengänge: Zwischenprüfung.

Die Seminarliteratur wird zu Beginn des Semesters als Reader zum Selbstkostenpreis zur Verfügung gestellt.
