Das Seminar will die Studierenden mit den Grundlinien von Nietzsches Philosophie vertraut machen. Im Zentrum soll dabei Nietzsches Moral- und Religionskritik stehen. Dem entsprechend kommen vor allem Texte aus Nietzsches mittlerer und später Zeit zur Sprache, also von "Menschliches, Allzumenschliches" bis "Götzendämmerung". Grundlage der Diskussion ist in jeder Woche eine Auswahl von ungefähr fünf Aphorismen Nietzsches zu einem bestimmten Thema. Diese werden im Seminar im Detail analysiert.
Eine Leistungsbescheinigung (BA- oder Master of Education-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für die Analyse eines Nietzsche-Aphorismus im Umfang von ungefähr fünf Seiten.
Ein Leistungsnachweis (Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) wird ausgestellt für eine Hausarbeit.

Magister- und Lehramt-Studiengänge: Zwischenprüfung.

Empfohlen wird die Anschaffung der Kritischen Studienausgabe von Nietzsches Werken, die von de Gruyter bei dtv vertrieben wird, daraus insbesondere die Bände 2 bis 6, und daraus unbedingt die Bände 3 und 5.
