Das Seminar gibt einen Überblick über grundlegende Aspekte der Klinischen Psychologie als wissenschaftlicher Praxis. Neben einer Auseinandersetzung mit dem Störungsbegriff werden u.a. historische Aspekte, grundlegende Paradigmen, Forschungsmethoden und Anwendungsbereiche des Faches dargestellt. Darüber hinaus wird ein Überblick über theoretische Grundlagen und praktische Vorgehensweisen in verschiedenen Aufgabenbereichen der Klinischen Psychologie, wie der klinischen Diagnostik, Beratung, Psychotherapie, Prävention und Rehabilitation, gegeben. Dabei werden auch die Stellung der Klinischen Psychologie im Gesundheitswesen, ihre Beziehung zu anderen Disziplinen sowie rechtliche und ethische Aspekte verdeutlicht.
