Studierende sollen ein grundlegendes Verständnis wichtiger volkswirtschaftlicher Phänomene, wie Wachstum, Konjunktur, Inflation und Arbeitslosigkeit erwerben. Sie sollen die Fähigkeit erlangen, makroökonomische Argumente, empirische Methoden und theoretische Modelle kompetent einzusetzen, um die Wirkungen wirtschaftspolitischer Maßnahmen einzuschätzen.
Diese Veranstaltung bietet eine Einführung in die empirische und theoretische Untersuchung gesamtwirtschaftlicher Prozesse. Studierende werden dabei mit den wichtigsten Methoden und Modellansätzen zur Analyse der Bestimmungsfaktoren realer und monetärer makroökonomischer Aggregate wie Bruttoinlandsprodukt, Konsum, Investition, Staatshaushalt, Inflation und Beschäftigung vertraut gemacht. Sie erwerben Kenntnisse über die Wirksamkeit fiskal- und geldpolitischer Instrumente und das Entstehen möglicher Zielkonflikte.
