"Claudian ist der letzte große spätantike Dichter des heidnischen Rom." (Friedrich 2009) Zu seinen bedeutendsten Werken gehört das unvollendete Gedicht De raptu Proserpina, mit dem wir uns ausführlich in diesem Seminar beschäftigen wollen. Sprache, Stil, epische Technik sowie das Verhältnis zu seinen Vorgängern (insbesondere Ovid und Vergil) sollen im Mittelpunkt stehen
