In diesem Seminar wollen wir uns mit der qualitativen Forschungsmethode der Ethnographie beschäftigen. Sie zielt darauf ab, soziale Wirklichkeit und soziales Handeln ‚im Feld‘ zu erforschen. Dabei verlangt die ethnographische Methode von Forschenden, sich unmittelbar dem sozialen Leben auszusetzen, es zu beobachten und daran teilzunehmen. Wir wollen dabei einen „fremden Blick“ einüben, um auch das Vertraute neu zu hinterfragen und eigene Perspektiven aufzubrechen.
Dazu behandeln wir methodologisch-theoretische Grundlagen der Ethnographie und beschäftigen uns mit einschlägigen Studien. In praktischen Übungen erproben wir die Methode, indem wir eigene Beobachtungen durchführen und das ethnographische Schreiben bzw. Protokollieren üben, um ein Verständnis dafür zu entwickeln, was ethnographische Daten ausmachen.Einführungsliteratur:
