In this seminar we will focus on a new subfield of social thought that emerged under the title of Law & Economics and is mostly thaught at Law schools. Most sociology hate it, as they assume it has a neo-liberal bias. Here, though, we will rely on a more left wing, institutional perspective within this field and will concentrate on the last book of Kaushik Basu.
Due to the time limits of this seminar we will most probably only focus on on particular book, which is Kaushik Basu, The Republic of Beliefs: A New Approach to Law and Economics, Princeton University Press, 2018.
