Nach einer kontrovers diskutierten These der Systemtheorie sind Gruppen kein eigener Systemtyp, sondern einfach nur verlängerte, nach Unterbrechungen wiederaufgenommene Interaktionen. Die geplante Lehrveranstaltung soll in diese Kontroverse über den Gruppenbegriff einführen und sie zugleich einer Entscheidung näherbringen. Zu diesem Zweck sollen die vorgetragenen Argumente an einem besonders gut dokumentierten Fall von Gruppenbildung, dem der Gruppe 47, überprüft werden.
