This method class aims at supporting quantitatively oriented research projects by discussing longitudinal methods in the social sciences. The class covers topics of panel data regression modeling in particular, such as fixed and random effects regression, dynamic panel models, growth curve models, and event history modeling. Dependent upon the interests in participants, we may focus on certain methods or include additional ones.
The course is primarily designed for students of the BGHS and the SOEP Leibniz Science Campus, but is open for advanced MA students and doctoral students from other graduate schools and disciplines. Applied analyses of hands-on-session are carried out using the statistical software Stata. Participants may also use R.
