Am Beispiel ausgewählter Kunstwerke aus unterschiedlichen Epochen der Kunstgeschichte bis heute sowie einzelner Texte, die sich dem Thema (in philosophischer, ästhetischer, kulturwissenschaftlicher oder literarischer Hinsicht) gewidmet haben, soll das Zusammenspiel von Bildfläche und Bildgrenze analysiert werden. Die Frage nach dem Verhältnis von Bild und Rahmen soll abwechselnd in theoretischer Perspektive und objektorientiert analysiert werden.
