In diesem Seminar werden zentrale Texte der Frauen- und Geschlechtergeschichte aus Deutschland und den USA gelesen und diskutiert. Da es sich bei 'Geschlecht' um eine wesentliche Analysekategorie der Geschichtswissenschaft handelt, widmet sich das Seminar neben einem chronologischen Überblick u.a. folgenden Themenkomplexen:
- soziale Konstruktion von Geschlecht
- Geschlecht und 'Rasse'
- Körpergeschichte
- Männlichkeit/en
- poststrukturalistische Ansätzen
- Geschlecht und Klasse
- Intersektionalität.
