Omics Datenanalyse
Omics-Methoden sind hochauflösende analytische Verfahren, welches es ermöglichen die Gesamtheit der Gene, Transkripte, Proteine und Metabolite von Zellen zu beschreiben. Dank dieser neuen Technologien ist es möglich die Pathogenese diverser Erkrankungen zu erforschen, gezielt biotechnologische Prozesse zu optimieren und Prozesse in der Umwelt zu verstehen. Die Herausforderung bei den Omics-Analysen, ist es die riesigen anfallenden Datenmengen zu analysieren, was umfangreiches bioinformatisches Wissen erfordert. Das Ziel dieser Veranstaltung ist es am Beispiel der Auswertung von Omics-Daten wesentliche bioinformatische Methoden für die Auswertung von Life Science Daten zu erlernen und parallel im Rahmen der Übungen für die Beantwortung von biologischen und medizinischen Fragen zu nutzen. Wesentliche Schwerpunkte der Veranstaltung sind:
Einführung in Omics-Technologien und zum biologischen und klinischen Hintergrund
Erlernen bioinformatischer Workflows, um Omics-Daten zu analysieren, zu integrieren und auszuwerten
Erlernen wesentlicher biostatischer Methoden inklusive von Algorithmen des maschinellen Lernens
Aufsetzen von Datenbanken für die Speicherung und Organisation von biologischen und medizinischen Daten
Einführung in systembiologische Methoden für die Auswertung von Omics-Daten
Teamprojekt
Im Anschluss zur Veranstaltung wird im Wintersemester die Durchführung von Teamprojekten angeboten. Dafür werden entsprechende Themenvorschläge vorgestellt, bzw. Studenten dürfen eigene Vorschläge selber einbringen. Die Teilnahme an den Teamprojekten ist optional und erbringt 5 weitere Leistungspunkte.
