Im Seminar soll die Witz sowohl als intellektuelles Vermögen, ästhetisches Formprinzip und als einfache literarische Form behandelt werden. Zunächst soll Freuds Abhandlung "Der Witz und seine Beziehung zum Unbewußten" gelesen und diskutiert werden, dann sollen Referate zur Theorie des Witzes und des Komischen folgen, schließlich sollen verschiedene Genres betrachtet werden (vom politischen bis zum Sexualwitz).
