Diese Forschungswerkstatt richtet sich an Promovierende. Die Thematik der Forschungswerkstatt wird von den Themen der besprochenen Arbeiten abhängen, doch im Zentrum stehen Themenkomplexe aus der neuen Heterogenitätsforschung: ‚Ethnic boundary-making‘, ‚Superdiversity‘, ‚Intersektionalität‘, ‚Transdifferenz‘, ‚Politics of the self‘ im Kontext von Subjekttheorien sowie den ‚multiplen Zugehörigkeiten‘.
Die Präsentationen und Diskussionen basieren auf dem jeweiligen Stand der Arbeiten. Von besonderer Bedeutung sind theoretische sowie methodologische Fragen: Untersuchungseinheiten, Fragen des Feldzugangs, Methoden der Datenerhebung und der Datenauswertung, Entwicklung der Fragestellung, argumentative Architektur, ‚state-of-the-art‘, Forschungsdesign, Auswahl von Konzepten und Theorien.
