300066 Exploring Gender: Aktuelle Debatten der Geschlechterforschung (MA: Geschlechtersoziologie / MA Gender Studies) (S) (SoSe 2015)

Contents, comment

Ausgangspunkt des Seminars sind aktuelle Forschungsprojekte der Gender Studies. Zum einen werden wir die in diesen Projekten aufgeworfenen Fragen sowie die für ihre Beantwortung gewählten theoretischen Bezüge und Forschungsdesigns diskutieren. Zum anderen sollen die einzelnen Arbeiten in den Kontext gegenwärtiger Debatten der Geschlechterforschung gestellt werden. Zentrale Fragen dieser Debatten sind: Welche Konsequenzen hat die Gleichzeitigkeit von Persistenz und Wandel der Geschlechterverhältnisse für geschlechtliche Existenzweisen? In welchem Verhältnis steht die Dethematisierung von Geschlecht in manchen gesellschaftlichen Bereichen zu der Anforderung, entweder Frau oder Mann sein zu müssen? Wie lassen sich körperliche Materialisierungen von Geschlecht und die materielle Beschaffenheit des Körpers thematisieren, ohne die Materialität zu essentialisieren?
