Die Veranstaltung beschäftigt sich mit der Bedeutung zweier zentraler Kategorien sozialer Ungleichheit für die Organisationssoziologie: Geschlecht und Ethnie. Im ersten Teil der Veranstaltung wird der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern Organisationen vergeschlechtlicht sind und soziale Differenzierung nach Geschlecht eine Ungleichheit befördernde Dimension in Organisationen darstellt. Die Annäherung erfolgt in drei Schritten, und zwar über die Themenfelder Geschlechterkulturen in Organisationen, Geschlecht und Mikropolitik (Gleichstellungspolitiken) sowie Organisationale Prozesse (Segregation und Arbeitsteilung). Im zweiten Teil der Veranstaltung wird die Frage der organisationalen Verankerung von Ungleichheit am Beispiel der Überkreuzung von Geschlecht und Ethnizität vertieft. In diesem Zusammenhang wird es auch darum gehen, wie sich der Umgang mit kultureller Diversität in der Alltagspraxis von Organisationen darstellt und die Hervorbringung von Ungleichheit organisationalen Prozessen inhärent ist.
