In der Soziologie des Konflikts ist die soziale Figur des unabhängigen Dritten ein klassisches Thema. Der Blockkurs wird an die Tradition dieses Thema erinnern, die bis auf Simmel zurückreicht, um sodann nach einer systemtheoretischen Interpretation der verschiedenen Rollen des Dritten (Zuschauer, Schlichter, Richter) zu fragen.
