Für die qualitative Sozialforschung waren Arbeit und Beruf von Anfang an Forschungsfelder, in denen qualitative Methoden nicht nur Anwendung fanden, sondern erprobt und (weiter-)entwickelt wurden.
Das Seminar gibt einen Überblick über die Möglichkeiten unterschiedlicher empirischer Zugänge in diesem Feld. Am Beispiel von klassischen und neueren Studien sollen die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen spezifischer Zugänge – wie Beobachtungen, Videoaufnahmen und verschiedene Formen des qualitativen Interviews – erarbeitet und diskutiert werden.
