Die begleitende Übung mit Tutorium vermittelt einen Überblick über Instrumente der Sozialstrukturanalyse, d.h. vor allem die großen Studien, die für entsprechende Analysen herangezogen werden können. Dazu werden in der Vorlesung kurz zuvor behandelte Konzepte und Zusammenhangsmuster mit Hilfe eines Statistik-Programmpakets auf Basis in der Übung vorgestellter Datensätze in einfacher Form praktisch umgesetzt. Der Vorlesungsstoff selbst wird allerdings nicht repliziert.
Die Veranstaltung findet pro Woche ENTWEDER als Übung ODER Tutorium statt, wobei ca. zwei Drittel der Termine auf das Tutorium entfallen.
Im Tutorium werden in kleinen Gruppen praktische Übungen durchgeführt.
Die Übung vermittelt einen Überblick über die einzelnen Studien, die im Tutorium Verwendung finden und gibt damit insgesamt einen Überblick über die für die Sozialstrukturanalyse vorhandenen Dateninfrastrukturen.
Dabei wird in begrenztem Umfang auf die Inhalte der Vorlesung Bezug genommen, indem gezeigt wird, welche Informationen zu dort behandelten Konzepten und Inhalten in den jeweiligen Datensätzen verfügbar sind.

Aktive Teilnahme Übung / Tutorium:
Präsenz in der Veranstaltung, Einarbeiten in das verwendete Statistikprogramm, mehrmaliges Erstellen kleiner do-files zu Variablenkonstruktionen und einfachen Analysen. Bestätigung der aktiven Teilnahme durch unbenotete Übungsaufgaben in Stata.
