Die Vorlesung gibt einen Überblick über die europäische Industrialisierung des späten 18. und des 19. Jahrhunderts. Sie ist Teil eines viersemestrigen Vorlesungszyklus', der die europäische Wirtschaftsgeschichte vom Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart abdeckt (Teil I: Mittelalter, WiSe 22/23; Teil II: Frühe Neuzeit, SoSe 23; Teil III: Zeitalter der Industrialisierung, WiSe 23/24; Teil IV: Vom Ersten Weltkrieg bis zur Gegenwart, SoSe 24). Das zugehörige Seminar vertieft und ergänzt die Themen der Vorlesung.
