220148 Segregation und Apartheid im Südlichen Afrika (V+Ü) (WiSe 2013/2014)

Das Modul beschäftigt sich mit Segregation und Apartheid im Südlichen Afrika im 20. Jh mit Schwerpunkt auf Südafrika und Namibia. Anhand einer Anzahl ausgewählter Themen – so etwa ‚the Native Question‘, Land und Landschaft, imperiale Wissensproduktion, afrikanisches politisches Denken, Krieg und Widerstand, post-Apartheid Imaginationen – erschliessen wir historiographische und theoretische Debatten in der Geschichtsschreibung zum südlichen Afrika. Wir setzen uns theoretisch und methodisch mit der Frage des kolonialen Archivs und des historischen Narrativs auseinander und diskutieren vielseitige Genres und Quellenmaterialien zur Geschichte des südlichen Afrikas während der Kolonialzeit.
