Was verbindet so verschiedene Terrorakte wie 2019 jenen auf eine Synagoge in Halle, den 1970 durch eine palästinensische Volksfront verursachten Swissair-Absturz bei Würenlingen oder die lange Anschlagsserie der IRA? In diesem Seminar soll den insbesondere organisationstheoretischen Voraussetzungen des internationalen und lokalen Terrors nachgegangen werden. Hierzu sind zwei folgenreiche Annahmen zu Grunde zu legen. Erstens kann Terror – was außerhalb einer theoretischen Rekonstruktion zunächst irritieren mag – als tatsächlich soziales Geschehen betrachtet werden. Zweitens wird Terror nicht auf bestimmte Ordnungen der Organisation und Interaktion zu reduzieren sein, sondern einer weitreichenden gesellschaftstheoretischen Einordnung bedürfen. Das Seminar wird dahingehend Funktionen, Infrastrukturen, Verwirklichung, Verläufe und Anschlüsse des Terrors studieren. Systemtheoretische Zugänge – die in den vergangenen Jahren breitere Ausarbeitung erfahren haben – werden einen Schwerpunkt bilden, ohne, dass sich die Untersuchung auf sie zu beschränken hat.
Inhalte des Seminars:
- Einführung: Terror in soziologischer Perspektive
- Gesellschaftstheorie des Terrors (zentralen Seminarschwerpunkt bildet die Semesterlektüre: Buch von Peters Fuchs, s. u.)
- Darstellung weiterer theoretischer Beiträge zum Terror
- Terrororganisation / Zwischen Netzwerken und Bürokratien: Wie wird Terror organisiert?
