Die Lüge, so Augustinus, ist „eine unwahre mit dem Willen zur Täuschung vorgebrachte Aussage“. Neben berühmten Lügner-Figuren wie dem Baron von Münchhausen und Pinocchio sowie Hochstaplern wie Thomas Manns Felix Krull, aber auch Fragen nach Wahrheit und Identität, Authentizität und Autobiographie, Fiktionalität, Täuschung und Ethik werden wir uns im Seminar hauptsächlich mit Verfahren des unzuverlässigen Erzählens beschäftigen. Dabei geht es auch grundlegend darum, erzähltheoretische Analyseverfahren einzuüben. Wir wollen also verschiedene Mittel unzuverlässigen Erzählens kennenlernen und durch genaue Textlektüre unser investigatives, erzähltheoretisches Können schulen, sodass wir nach dem Seminar den Schwindler und Lügner in der Erzählliteratur auf die Schliche gekommen sind.
