Im Rahmen dieses Blockseminars werden wir uns mit einem besonderen Segment analytischer Ansätze der Organisationsforschung auseinandersetzen, das in der deutschen Organisationssoziologie bislang nur wenig systematisch rezipiert wurde: den Beiträgen Mancur Olsons und Elinor Ostrom zum Verständnis organisierter Sozialordnungen. Im Zentrum stehen dabei Kollektivgutprobleme als gemeinsamer Bezugspunkt dieser Ansätze. Kollektivgutprobleme treten in organisierten Sozialordnungen zum einen in der Form von Beitragsproblemen auf, zum anderen in der Form von Nutzungsproblemen. Auf das in beiden Fällen notorische Problem des Trittbrettfahrens (free riding) reagieren eine Reihe regulativer Arrangements in Organisationen, die wiederum ihre eigenen Probleme mit sich bringen. Im Rahmen des Seminars werden wir diskutieren, inwieweit die an Olson und Ostrom anschließenden Analysen von Problemen in der Produktion, Verwaltung, Nutzung, Zugangsbeschränkung und Zuweisung von Kollektivgütern das soziologische Verständnis organisierter Sozialordnungen bereichern können.
Vorkenntnisse in der Organisationstheorie sowie in analytischen Ansätzen der Sozialtheorie sind wünschenswert, aber nicht zwingend erforderlich.
