A major problem with indoor navigation is the lack of available indoor data. While CAD data with all the necessary routing information exists for all modern buildings, no software exists to convert it into a routable format. The goal of this project is to develop a tool that converts CAD data into the routable openstreetmap file format. The tool should provide a framework that allows different approaches (e.g. machine learning, ray-casting, computer vision) to perform the conversion and combine the results. Depending on the number of participants, one or more conversion approaches should be implemented.
In case the proposal would not attract enough students for a team project, it can be adapted into an individual project or a project for two students (tandem project).

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
