Jeismann, Bergmann, Rüsen, Pandel ... - die Geschichtsdidaktik bezieht sich in ihren Theorien bis heute häufig auf die Texte von Autoren (und sehr viel seltener von Autorinnen wie z. B. Annette Kuhn), die in den 1970er bis 1990er Jahren publiziert wurden. Auf der Grundlage des im Bachelorstudiums im Theorieseminar Geschichtsdidaktik erworbenen Wissens um fachdidaktische Begriffe und Theorien will das Vertiefungsseminar solche für die Disziplin oft nach wie vor grundlegenden Texte einer kritischen Lektüre unterziehen und ihre Bedeutung für aktuelle geschichtsdidaktische Konzepte und Diskurse herausarbeiten. Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme am Seminar ist die Bereitschaft, entsprechende Texte regelmäßig zu lesen und sich auf verschiedene Arten der Textarbeit einzulassen.
